MORE

After three years on a four day school week. AJUSD switched to a modified year-round schedule and five-day weeks. (Editor's Note: The copy on the divider spreads tells the story of one person's year through the eyes of a fictional student named Indigo.

The first day is always weird, and even weirder now. I should've had 10 days of summer left. but instead i'm in the gym with people pushing to get their schedule before we officially start the day. On Tuesday, all the craziness of the first day is over. The second day is a little more normal and it felt amazing to get more sleep since the days start later and I definitely liked going home an hour earlier. Now it's Wednesday, and I don't mind not having Study Skills. With more time on Friday, I don't think l have a problem keeping up.

A shorter day is a better day. Thursday. Instead of the weekend, people are talking about school tomorrow. I will miss the three-day weekend. I really didn't want to get up on Friday morning. Despite not going to school today for years, I got used to it pretty quickly. It meant more time for electives and an extra lunch with my friends, but I was still happy it was the last day of the week.
